Purpose of Job

Jobholders at this level carry out specific tasks independently but are subject to close supervision. They contribute to the completion of required simple operational tasks; they participate in the assessments of SMO income/financial records and examinations of historical tax records used to determine accurately tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with the kingdom’s tax laws, audit procedures, and administrative rules. They communicate with taxpayers to obtain clarifications on declarations. They research, collect and analyze information, draft reports and documents, participate in specific meetings and develop their own professional expertise

Job Resposiblites

  • Keep abreast of VAT policies, GAAP, and generally accepted auditing standards, procedures and techniques to remain current on updates in tax rules, parameters and reporting procedures
  • Develop and update assessment templates and audit tools  in accordance with operational procedures and policies to facilitate SMO taxation and safeguard timely evaluation
  • Perform complete tax audits on VAT transactions within the region, examine the validity of legal documents presented by SMOs, verify declarations and submitted records and ensure completeness of required documentations prior to tax liability assessment and evaluation
  • Consolidate legal and financial observations, study and evaluate against pre-approved eligibility criteria and tax requirements to recommend tax liability and draft audit report in line with applicable policies and procedures

Job Details

  • Revise SMOs VAT assessments and confirm assessment approach (actual, estimated, reduced) based on SMOs accounting and financial structures
  • Review drafted audit reports, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and sign off tax amounts while providing feedback to auditors for improvement
  • Coordinate with Legal Support function to align on ZATCA’s technical position and tax-related laws, policies and regulations

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent is required
