Job Details
Strategy and Planning
• Implement and ensure the achievement of ZATCA's strategy, aspirations and Indirect Tax Litigation specific objectives
• Provide input to identify Indirect Tax Litigation required projects to meet future demands
• Implement plans and provide input to enable achievement of Indirect Tax Litigation goals that support ZATCA’s overall strategic plans
Budget Management
• Participate in Indirect Tax Litigation annual budgeting cycle and process
• Manage Indirect Tax Litigation efficiently and within budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered
Complex Cases
• Receive and assess indirect tax legal cases in coordination with concerned sectors and divisions to identify all requirements and implications
• Receive relevant documentation and work with concerned entities when needed to investigate committed infringements
• Develop statements of claim, counterstatements, warning letters and responses on legal matters in order to maintain ZATCA’s legal rights and reputation
• Provide necessary studies for the mitigation of recurrent infringements and decide on all preventive actions to be taken
• Build understanding of legal issues, risks and obligations through advice, communications and trainings in order to gradually increase awareness
• Follow appropriate legal policies and practices in order to manage the indirect tax legal obligations and legal risks effectively
• Provide accurate and timely advice to all areas of the organization on generic and complex indirect tax legal matters to avoid legal issues
Court Representation
• Represent ZATCA in cases raised in favor or against the authority before judicial bodies, committees and governmental authorities
• Negotiate settlements with employees and external entities involved in lawsuits against ZATCA (excluding settlements related to audit and collection) and represent ZATCA in court where necessary
• Coordinate with outsourced legal experts when applicable to manage cases related to the committees
• Develop formalities regarding the settlement of disputes and handle the implementation of the legal clauses
People Management
• Participate in the identification and recruitment of key talent
• Guide, mentor and support direct reports in order to execute duties according to set policies and processes
• Perform on-the-job training for direct reports and provide feedback
Communication and Contacs
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in Legal Studies, or equivalent is preferred
Experience
An optimal of 7 years of relevant experience, with a preferred 2 years of experience in managerial level
