Purpose of Job
Jobholders at this level are responsible for leading work activities and working autonomously with minor direction towards predetermined long-term objectives.
Jobholders oversee the implementation of operational plans and the provision of significant improvements to set policies, procedures, standards and reports.
Their main operational role includes the development of ZATCA’s litigation strategy, management of complex case studies, and representation of ZATCA in court hearings in front of judicial bodies.
Job Resposiblites
- Receive litigation cases from objections team and provide support to prioritize cases for analysis based on pre-defined criteria
- Research and analyze laws, regulations and policies depending on each case for proper analysis
- Collect and sort objections cases and arrange coordination with sectors and divisions to identify all requirements and implications
- Collect relevant documentation and arrange meetings with concerned entities when needed in order to identify committed infringements and prepare proper legal accommodation
- Draft statements of claim, counterstatements, warning letters and responses on legal matters in order to maintain ZATCA’s legal rights and reputation
- Assist in conducting necessary studies for the mitigation of recurrent infringements and formulate a list of all potential preventive actions to be taken when needed
- Conduct legal research by utilizing various resources and selecting the relevant material to analyze the legal information
Job Details
- Assist in reviewing the legal material and any other relevant documents to identify the most important issues that need to be sorted out on a priority basis
- Assist in the representation of ZATCA in cases raised in favor or against the authority before judicial bodies, committees and governmental authorities and ensure all needed documents are available to support case
- Prepare settlements to negotiate with employees and external entities involved in lawsuits against ZATCA (excluding settlements related to audit and collection)
- Archive all judgments from lawsuits won by ZATCA for future reference
- Search for outsourced legal experts that can provide additional legal advice when needed in order to manage internal and external non-tax litigation cases
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Law Studies, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in Law Studies, or equivalent is preferred
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
