Purpose of Job

Jobholders at this level carry out specific tasks independently but are subject to close supervision. They research, collect and analyze information, draft reports and documents, participate in specific meetings and develop their own professional expertise.

They undertake simple operational activities including inspection of received items, separation of suspicious cases and dispatching to senior specialists, organization of vehicles movements in X-rays check paths, and development of findings reports for each item and vehicle checked.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and assess X-Rays team’s human capital distributions, develop employees’ schedules and rotation plans to maximize efficiency of operations
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for function’s equipment and machines, receive and assess mechanical and technical issues that might arise, and report back to relevant stakeholders to ensure fast resolution
  • Categorize received items from different sources and prioritize groups based on sensitivity, importance, and urgency to ensure proper and timely inspections
  • Conduct inspections using X-rays on selected items, documents, and messages received to guarantee safety and validity of received items
  • Separate suspicious findings and analyse and assess radiographs to ensure detection of smuggled items, drugs, and explosives
  • Develop X-ray results report, stamp all received and checked items with outcome, and dispatch for manual inspection or clearance functions
  • Categorize and prioritize incoming vehicles based on countries of origin to ensure proper handling of targeted vehicles
  • Organize vehicles movements in X-rays check paths and ensure separation of dubious cases for manual and meticulous inspection
  • Detect suspicious cases and communicate findings with concerned teams for further inspections (manual inspection, K-9 inspection, etc.)
  • Direct checked vehicles for clearance and inspection process in coordination with protection and clearance teams
  • Monitor all equipment state and escalate to relevant stakeholders for maintenance if required
  • Develop reports highlighting equipment needs (maintenance, new equipment, etc.) and ensure timely handling of issues and gaps to guarantee efficient inspection operations

Bachelor’s degree in Radiology, Diagnostic Radiology or equivalent

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
