Purpose of Job
Jobholders at this level are capable of operating with minimal supervision. They work within guidelines and procedures in order to prepare more complex, specialized or ad-hoc reports in their related field. They contribute to the completion of milestones or operational targets within the assigned functional area.
They undertake operational activities including supporting other functions in closing processes, and developing required reports.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop financial statements, chart of accounts, financial position forecasts, and other reports required by management in a timely and accurate manner
- Provide support to other functions regarding accounting and closing policies and procedures, efficient controls, and utilization of financial resources
- Assist functions in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and provide required support and training
- Tackle non-compliance cases resulting from audits/ General Court of Audit findings and implement corrective measures to mitigate risks and recurrence
- Monitor the recording of transactions, journal entries and postings to ledgers assessing accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards
- Review bank reconciliations for all bank accounts ensuring matching
- Execute periodic (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly) closing processes, communicate with internal stakeholders to fix discrepancies, and report non-compliant cases
Review periodic financial reports ensuring reported results comply with financial reporting standards
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent is required
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
