Systems & Database Director

Purpose of Job

The job holder is responsible for managing and operating ZATCA IT infrastructure, systems, databases, and datacentre facilities in order to secure business continuity, ensure efficient and effective utilization of IT assets and meet business requirements within applicable standards.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning  

•    Contribute to the development of IT Operations business plan ensuring alignment with ZATCA strategy
•    Develop the operational plan for Systems and Database in line with IT Operations business plan and IT & Digitization strategic plan 
•    Implement plans and provide input to enable achievement of Systems and Database goals that support ZATCA’s overall strategic plans

Systems & Database Operation and Performance  

•    Define IT systems & database and Datacenter operations model in line with IT strategy and ZATCA strategy according to the latest IT systems & database technology and Data center operations trends and standard
•    Finalize database capacity plans and oversee the design and development of databases
•    Manage the operation of ZATCA systems and database ensuring best-in-class operational performance
•    Manage the necessary systems installations, upgrades, and maintenance as planned in cooperation with all stakeholders and functions
•    Review major change requests related to IT systems and databases and ensure proper evaluation of their impact on IT strategy and IT enterprise architecture
•    Track and asses the performance, health, and safety of IT systems infrastructure
•    Recommend performance and hardware improvements, as well as resources optimization to achieve the IT systems objectives and KPIs

Data Center and IT Inventory Management  

•    Manage data center operations and maintenance (access, heat, power) ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency and monitor all equipment to avoid any threat
•    Manage data center expansion and upgrade plans in order to assess their effectiveness on IT operations while ensuring growth
•    Oversee the handling and controlling of IT assets’ lifecycle, from reception to disposal ensuring up-to-date inventory details with respect to cost, risk, redistribution, control, and compliance
•    Monitor ZATCA data center and servers to ensure efficient 24/7 operations, and develop periodical reports with needed recommendations for improvement

People Management  

•    Participate in the identification and recruitment of key talent
•    Guide, mentor and support direct reports in order to execute duties according to set policies and processes
•    Develop individual performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate/appraise team and provide regular feedback on performance
•    Establish a high-performance working environment and promote ZATCA values

Education

•  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent is required
